Custom Flag/Banner Artwork Submission Guidelines
As your custom flag maker, A Stars & Stripes Flag Corporation’s main goal is to produce your custom flag or banner precisely as you envisioned. To ensure we provide you with the highest quality flag or banner, please follow these tips when sending us your artwork.
At A Stars & Stripes Flag Corporation, we are PC-based and use the latest version of Adobe Creative Cloud software. We also utilize the Solid Coated Pantone Matching System® for color accuracy.
Before submitting your artwork, please ensure the following:
- Artwork is saved in an acceptable file type. (see list below)
- All fonts and strokes are outlined.
- The artwork has been proofed and spell-checked for errors.
- Pantone® Solid Coated colors are included for the best color match.
- Artwork is sized correctly for the requested product. Templates available upon request
- For raster files, ensure a minimum resolution of 150 DPI at actual print size (100%).
Vector artwork is ideal because it can be scaled to any size without losing quality, and the colors can be easily adjusted.
Acceptable File Types (Vector):
- .eps (Encapsulated PostScript)
- .ai (Adobe Illustrator Document)
- .pdf (Portable Document Format)
Raster art is best for detailed, pixel-based designs but loses quality when enlarged however color matching is not guaranteed.
Acceptable File Types (Raster):
- .psd (Adobe Photoshop Document)
- .tiff (Tagged Image File Format)
- .jpeg (Joint Photographic Experts Group) – Not recommended due to potential low resolution.
Note: JPEG files are compressed and often low in resolution. While we accept them, we do not recommend using them for high-quality prints.
Font Specifications
- Convert all fonts to outlines to avoid font substitution issues.
- If fonts are not outlined, please provide the Mac or TruType fonts used in the artwork.
- If you change your file, make sure you send the updated font files with the revised version of the file.
Color Specifications
- We use Pantone® Solid Coated colors for color matching. Please specify these in your file for accurate color reproduction.
- Orders without Pantone® color indications, proofs, or requested hard-copy proofs are not guaranteed for accurate color matching.
- If sending Photoshop files, please provide layered files for the best results.
Art Recreation or Design Services
- If you don’t have access to a vector file, we can recreate most logos and graphics. Pricing varies depending on the complexity and time required. You can send us your artwork for a quote.
