Buying an American flag is not as straightforward as it may seem. You’ll need to consider the different options available and make sure that you choose the ones that best fit your needs.

Both our Nylon and Polyextra US flags are made with following features:
- Construction begins with finest fabrics and color-matched threads available. We then carefully assemble each flag using a full ¼” turn on all seams, a unidirectional chain stitch for all horizontal seams (this makes the flag stronger), and a lock stitch for all edge hems. All seams are sewn with color-matched thread.
- All of the starfields are stitched by our state of the art Epoca Embroidery machine. We have gone to great lengths to construct the most attractive starfields on flags at all sizes, up to 20’x38’.
- Fly hems are finished with 4 rows of lock stitching and a 102 stitch X-Box reinforcement at the top and bottom of flags up to 6’x10’. Flags 8’x12’ and larger feature an X-box at each horizontal seam. Sizes 10’x15’ and larger have 6 rows of stitching on the flyend with double X-box reinforcement on every seam.
- For the strongest headings in the industry, we use a heavy 9-ounce polyester sateen material.
Our nylon flags are made with 200 Denier Nylon-Type 66 Bright, which is designed for outdoor use with UV protections against fading. These flags are lighter weight than our Polyextra flags and the material is shinier.
Our Polyextra flags are made with a heavy duty 2×2 ply polyester material. These flags are heavier and will require additional wind for them to fly, which will give them a longer life span in weather conditions. The fabric used in Polyextra flags is more matte than shiny.
If you plan to fly your U.S. flag with a state, international, or custom flag, they will likely be made of Nylon. If you want all of your flags to fly the same regardless of winds, you should choose the U.S. nylon flag.
